How it works

Three steps to
talking to your money.

Slate is designed to be useful in under ten minutes. Here's the whole flow.

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Link your accounts

Securely connect your banks, cards, and investment accounts through Plaid. Slate reads transactions and balances so the rest of the app has something to work with — read-only, never stored unencrypted.

Takes about a minute per bank

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Connect your AI assistant

Add Slate to Claude or ChatGPT as a connector. Now you can ask your assistant real questions about your money — “where did $400 go last week?”, “am I on track?” — and get answers from your actual numbers.

Works with Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and ChatGPT (Pro/Team/Enterprise)

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Set categories, budgets & plans

Tune your spending categories, set monthly budgets, and sketch a plan for the year. Slate (and your assistant) use these to tell you whether you're on track and what trade-offs to consider.

Edit anything from Funds, Categories, and Planning
